Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for implementing the Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms, saying the move has revitalised markets and provided a boost to the One District One Product (ODOP) sector.
Addressing the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show 2025 (UPITS-2025) in Greater Noida, CM Yogi said, “After the implementation of historic next-generation GST reforms, this is the first time PM Narendra Modi has arrived in UP. Poor, farmers, women, youth, middle class, traders, small and medium enterprises—all communities and castes have received this Diwali gift. Over the last four days, we have seen a new kind of liveliness in the markets. Consumers have rushed in, and it has given new life to our ODOP sector industrialists.”
The CM highlighted the scale and significance of UPITS-2025, noting participation from over 550 buyers from 80 countries and more than 2,250 exhibitors from all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh. “This is a very big platform to showcase Uttar Pradesh before the nation and the world,” he added.
The five-day event, scheduled from September 25 to 29, aims to display the state’s industrial, agricultural, cultural, and innovation strengths. A key attraction is the ODOP Pavilion, featuring 343 stalls showcasing signature products from each district, ranging from Bhadohi carpets and Firozabad glasswork to Moradabad metalware and Saharanpur woodcraft, while also facilitating networking, business collaborations, and partnerships for startups and designers.
